Current Focus Standards

  • RL.8.1 Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
  • RL.8.3 Analyze how particular lines of dialogue or incidents in a story or drama propel the action, reveal aspects of a character, or provoke a decision.

Independent Reading

All students are required to read one independent book a month.  Students must then take an Accelerated Reader (AR) Test upon completion of the book.  
  • Test results are to be printed and submitted to Ms. Asciola for a formative grade.
  • The book chosen and its ATOS level are noted next to each student's grade each month.
